60 years after the Korean War

Various events to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the Korean War and war heroes are being held nationwide.




President Lee Myung-bak is visiting the U.N. Memorial Cemetery in Busan to pay homage to the U.N. troops who were killed during the Korean War.

People are enjoying special sculptures that symbolize the 21 countries that assisted South Korea during the Korean War, alongside Cheonggyecheon Stream in Seoul.

During the 13th Dosol Mount Battle Memorial Festival held in Gangwon Province, American war veterans lay a floral tribute to their fellow soldiers who fought in the Korean War. Dosol Mount Battle was the first battle in which Korean marines joined and won.
